this goes with that: the navy blue wide leg pant…

while i absolutely love dressing my clients…and putting my own outfits together…it has never been something that i thought would become a daily post…until one day when i decided to embrace the world of instagram…and even that took me a while…i remember attending a class at the facebook headquarters…i needed to have my instagram account set up…which i did…but after that class…i never did anything with it…

i just didn’t feel like it was for me…plus the idea of posting a picture of myself…and daily…was not something i was dying to do…

fast forward about a year…and i attended another class that was all about instagram…and this time…i saw how i could help women – with ideas on what to wear…with items they had in their closet…

let’s face it…there are many on instagram that get clothing sent to them…i am not one of those people…and while i am sure that would be fabulous…it is not my life…but with that…i saw an opportunity to show my style…which consists of clothing that i’ve had for a while…some i’ve had for years…but while adding in a new piece here and there…showing how i incorporated the new with my old pieces…

so instagram started for me…there was now my “why”…and of course i invite you to follow me on my instagram account…if you are not doing so…click “here”

as the months went by…i started getting a lot of questions on the particulars of my outfits…or comments such as “i would never have thought to put that together…” or even better…”instead of wearing my regular jeans & a t-shirt…i decided to go in my closet and recreate your outfit”…

that last one made me happy…

so i decided to start a new series on my blog which will be called “this goes with that…” which will be a small breakdown of my outfit…or the steps or thought process that took place to get my outfit together…

so the first item i have chosen is a rather new pair of pants that i got (late last year)…first…can we talk about these wide leg pants?? i was smitten immediately when i saw them…i had no clue what i was going to wear with them (not something i recommend)…but i knew that i would figure it out…

the pants are by topshop – and while i absolutely loved the wide leg pant…i also loved the exposed rose gold zipper…when i am looking for pieces for my wardrobe – i am always interested in the small details…i believe it is the small details that ultimately make the outfit…

so the outfit creation started with the rose gold zipper…i wanted to make the color stand out…so i pulled out my blush pink robert rodriguez blazer…i’ve had this blazer for over 10 years…i was first attracted to it because of the beautiful embroidery on the sleeves…and the color…notice it was details again that secured the purchase? and of course…we’ve been seeing almost everything embroidered lately…so it fit in perfectly…

while i tried on a few necklaces…nothing seemed right…i wanted simple…tried pearls…too much (i know, i can’t believe i even wrote that…) mixed lot of vintage chains…didn’t feel right…and then i saw it! my argento vivo circle necklace that i got at the nordstrom anniversary sale in 2016!

side note: sometimes i feel bad wearing it…as it was one of my “favorite picks” that i do each year…and many of my clients and some friends wanted it…but they waited too long…and it sold out! i see them eyeing it when i wear it around them…

but does it not go perfectly? the circle with the circle on the zipper? perfect match…

at this point the shoes were a no brainer for me…i wanted to continue with the blush pink…and these ivanka trump pumps not only have the blush pink but a metallic gold as well…and the icing on top? they are textured…so i felt it went well with the texture of the embroidery on the sleeves…

and there you have it…my thought process…i hope you enjoyed it…and look forward to more of my “this goes with that…” series…

if you see an outfit that you’d like a write-up on…let me know…but i will try and do this a few times a month…

thanks for stopping by…

till next time…stay stylish!
