so today i needed to take bart into the city…love taking the train in the morning…as it is full of lovely commuters…while normally i settle into my seat with a good book…today i had quite the lovely encounter…and it all started with a pair of kelly green pants…
which i was wearing…i paired my cotton cropped pants with a striped tee…and a floral scarf…very similar to this pic…added in accessories of my muted animal print flats…and my neon pink handbag…
as i dove into my book…the train had already made a few stops…and the seat next to me was empty…at the next stop…a woman came on board…who i didn’t notice…until she sat in this empty seat next to me…what was she wearing? kelly green pants…
she had hers paired with a black tee…and black flats…and a black handbag…
so i smiled and said to her…looks like we had the same color in mind this morning…we both laughed…and then the conversation really got started…
she proceeded to tell me how she loves colors…but she usually thinks to pair them with white or black…and nothing else…she then commented on my outfit…saying…she would never had thought in a million years to put these colors and patterns together…but yet…she loved the look…
so i asked her if she had a striped tee at home…and a floral scarf…and she said yes! so i said…there you go! you are set…
as we got to talking more…she says to me…you should be in fashion…to which i laughed and said…it is what i do! at this point we were like two giddy girlfriends talking about fashion…as i started giving her other options to wear with her kelly green pants…she couldn’t believe all the options available to her…mostly with items she already owned…
here were some examples of what i told her to try…and the best part? because this has never happened to me…she looks at me and says…if you were able to help me this much in only a train ride…i can’t imagine what you can do in my closet…and she booked an appointment!
looking forward to working with my newest client…i think she is going to be thrilled with all her new outfits…all from her already existing closet…
i’m thinking next time i’m on the train…i need to do a little less reading…and a little more talking…
