i was both honored and humbled to take the oath of office as president for the san francisco chapter of aici (association of image consultants international) on june 30…
here are some fun highlights of the evening…
i received my very own gaval…in my favorite color…inscribed with: madame president – aici sfba (i can’t wait to use it!)
here is immediate past president & dear friend carrie & i…she leaves some BIG shoes to fill! but i’m up for the challenge…
i was completely shocked to also receive the “rising star” award…you can read more about that here…of course there were tears by this point…
and for those that know me well…you know that i am quite the emotional person…crying very easily…happy times…sad times…so when it came time for me to give my opening speech…let’s just say…it took quite a while…as i needed many breaks in between my tear-fest…”my name is elena…and i’m such a sap…i even cry during hallmark commercials…”
and here is the lovely board for 2014-2015…this is a group of such remarkable women…and i look so forward to working with each and every one of them this year…
many have asked about my necklace and jacket…well…they are both vintage…my jacket is a piece from the 50’s which i found on shrimpton couture…this is THE first place i go for my vintage…cherie is AMAZING…and always has a beautiful selection…tell her i sent you! and my necklace is a piece from the 80’s…which was my first purchase from couture allure...jody is also one who knows her stuff when it comes to vintage…and her website as well…is always full of vintage beauties…
it was such a lovely nite…especially having 2 of my close friends there with me…thank you to lillie & margaret for being there for me on such a special nite…and of course…for my bubbly…which i still need to partake of…
