when i got the call from my girlfriend…i knew that it was going to be a total “dress up” afternoon…it all started when a friend of my girlfriend needed some help in a move…
so while they were packing stuff up…this friend pulled out some fur coats…and said…”i have no idea what i am going to do with these…” to which my girlfriend said…”you need to talk to my friend…elena”
and so it began…i got the phone call…and knew that i was going to be picking up “a few” furs…dated back to the 40’s & 50’s…all from marshall fields…what i didn’t expect…was the amount of items all dated back to the 40’s & 50’s…beautiful full length fur coats…4 of them! and then the hats…too many to mention…but they were all hidden in these hat boxes…just waiting to come out…
so we do what any two normal women would do…when presented with such beautiful items from days of old…we played dress up…and we talked about how we were definitely born in the wrong era…while my mom has told me that over and over…i’m starting to think that it just may be true…
the coats and hats belonged to this friends mother (who is 80 years young) and her great aunt…who grew up in chicago…the coats…and the hats are in pristine condition…and soon enough will be listed in the styling fabulous consignment boutique…so if you are looking for a new fur…or some fun hats…stay tuned!
