i have been a huge fan of the very lovable bill cunningham for many years…and now it seems that his lovely works will be shown at the new-york historical society museum…wondering if i should be planning a trip to new york…
at 84 years of age…this wonderful man is not showing signs of slowing down…as seen in his weekly videos titled “on the street” in the new york times…i love these videos…the amount of knowledge bill cunningham holds in all the years of photographing trends and styles among the elite to those fashionable on the street…is staggering…

In 1968, photographer Bill Cunningham embarked on an eight-year project to document the architectural riches and fashion history of New York City. Scouring the city’s thrift stores, auction houses, and street fairs for vintage clothing, and scouting sites on his bicycle, Cunningham generated a photographic essay entitled Façades, which paired models—in particular his muse, fellow photographer Editta Sherman—in period costumes with historic settings.
