while color will always be a part of my wardrobe…sometimes…a little change is good…and while there are some that are opposite of me…and are afraid of color…a little change is good as well…but lately…i have really been loving the look of all neutral…as in the beautiful examples below…
but first…what is a neutral? in general…think of the colors that match with all colors…without distraction…so you’ve got your blacks, whites & greys…browns & blues…while these are the most common neutrals…gold & silver can fall in this category…as well as olive & cream…
neutral pieces are the foundation of your wardrobe…the pieces that have staying power…the pieces that you can play with by adding color…texture & accessories…think of your black suit…your blue jeans…your khaki pants…these are pieces that you can pretty much add any color to them…and they will work…
but lately…what has been catching my eye…is going all neutral…this isn’t a new concept…it’s been around…but as seasons come and go…the monochromatic look comes and goes…but as you will see in these examples…the look is so clean…so classic…so chic…
what do you need to keep in mind when choosing a neutral? you really need to pay attention to your skin tone…although it is a neutral…and it goes with anything…depending on your skin tone…you will want to choose a cooler neutral tone…or a warmer neutral tone…believe me…it will make a world of difference…
warm toned? look for cream, chocolate brown & gold…
cool toned? look for silver, white, grey & navy…
