we as women…wear many hats…we are mothers, wives, sisters, daughters & friends…and we sometimes…if not to often…put ourselves last on the list…and when it comes to our wardrobe…we settle for whatever is the closest item to us…or even…what we wore yesterday…
now while this isn’t everyone’s situation…i have spoken to countless women who think of everyone…but themselves…and unfortunately…the wardrobe shows it…
two things come out of this scenario…
1. your clothes speak for you…when you are not speaking…so what is your clothing saying about you? lazy? sloppy? put together? confidant?
2. whether you love fashion or not…when you have something on that makes you feel good…it truly does transpire to other areas…your confidence is lifted…you walk differently…and your attitude changes…
the thing is…i am not talking about going out and buying the most expensive designer items…but there is a difference between staying in your workout gear…all day…or putting on a pair of pants that is wrinkled…ill fitting…or whatever those items in your closet are…that don’t make you feel all that…put together…you know the ones…
it is always a great time to focus on yourself…and there are new habits that will lead to self-appreciation and a good self-image…here are some ways to nourish a loving attitude and get you started…YOU are worth it!
get out of the habit of trying to dress younger than you are…
get into the habit of showcasing your personal best assets and looking great at any age…
get out of the habit of criticizing your body when trying on clothes that don’t flatter your body type…
get into the habit of discovering clothes that naturally flatter your body type…
get out of the habit of buying random pieces and feeling bad because you never wear them…
get into the habit of shopping with a purpose and a list…
get out of the habit of settling for bargains or hand-me-downs or past-season discounted clothes…
get into the habit of paying full price for something you love and will wear often…
get out of the habit of throwing on the same old thing day after day…
get into the habit of taking time to create “new” outfits from your wardrobe and use more of what you already own…
get out of the habit of adding new items to an already overstuffed closet…
get into the habit of having a well-edited closet by eliminating clothes before adding new ones…
get out of the habit of running out the door without your makeup on…
get into the habit of scheduling enough time to put your best face forward…
get out of the habit of being envious of what others are wearing…
get into the habit of studying well-dressed women and trying new styling techniques…
get out of the habit of putting on clothes that you “sort of” like…
get into the habit of enjoying how you feel in clothes and accessories you love…
get out of the habit of feeling stuck…
get into the habit of giving me a call to help you get unstuck…
what new habits will you be starting on? remember…YOU are worth it!
